Finance and giving

givingKeeping the Church open during the day, every day, keeping the building heated in winter and maintaining the wide-ranging ministry and distinctive worship of St George's does not come cheap.

While we are blessed in many ways, our regular costs exceed our regular income. The best way to help is to join our regular Planned Giving scheme - contact Steve Lovell for details or read on here.

St George's also has a sponsorship scheme, under which you can target an individual gift to help meet some of our costs.

Pick up a sponsorship form in church or contact the church office if you would like to offer:

The gift of welcome:

Why not sponsor the cost of the church cleaning for a week or a month, in thanks for an anniversary or in memory of a loved one?

The gift of ceremony:

Help with the cost of altar candles, Easter and Christmas candles, baptismal candles, palm crosses...

The gift of music:

Help with the cost of choir music, the running costs of the Junior Choir, helping to keep the pianos in tune...

Gift Aid is a simple and effective way to boost your giving. If you are a UK taxpayer, using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, St George's will currently receive an extra 25 pence in tax relief from our friends at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. If you can, Gift Aid it!
